2A International Tax Advisors

Many people ask me how I came up with the name “2A” for a consulting firm specializing in international tax planning. My reasoning for selecting “Two A’s” is a reference to the initials of Arthur Andersen, a firm easily recognized for their standard of high quality, both in product and customer service. During the 10 years I worked at Arthur Andersen, I recognized that if I ever started my own practice, I would have to replicate those same principles and hold that standard of quality. In order to accomplish this, it would be essential to have a team that values customer satisfaction first and foremost.

Although these two factors are cause and consequence of each other, my desire was to find employees capable of incorporating the culture of: “it is always possible to do more, and do better”, and through offering tax solutions to those who want to live or start a business in the United States, we accomplish this standard.

In March 2018, the dream came true, and today 2A International Tax Advisors are proud to have delivered hundreds of tax planning projects, which have helped our clients reduce their tax liability in the US.

I lead a team of Senior Consultants who, in addition to specializing in international taxation, have the sensitivity to discover the needs of each family or individual who come to us in both our Miami and Sao Paulo offices.

I made it a priority to maintain a physical base in Brazil because I understand those who prefer to discuss their situation in person, in meetings that include our traditional coffee.

While writing the story of 2A, I realized that, “Two A” in English, sounds like “two ways” — that is: two paths — an expression that is well suited to our business, which consists of international tax advice whenever it involves at least two countries. “Two Paths” also reminds us of the creativity needed to rummage through legislation, until you are sure that there is no better option for each client.

The letter A, repeated twice, can still refer to the double “Advisors and Accountants”, or “Accountants and Attorneys”. All of whom have been hand selected to be on our professional staff.

The name 2A can be open to interpretation. So long as it represents the values of responsibility, trust, creativity and commitment; new interpretations will always be welcome.
